The story

My name is Barbara McIntosh my parents are Robert & Mary Fotheringam of Seaforth Long time supporters of the huron county and IPM plowing match.I grew up on a cash crop farm that my parents still farm today with my brother, William. I did not go farm from home, I married Ross McIntosh December 2, 2000. Ross is a third generation egg farmer. Ross grew up on the family farm Mcintosh Poultry Farms Limited of Seaforth with his parents Jim & Brenda Mcintosh. Ross and I farm together with our children Kirsten & Dugald. We started R&B Mcintos Egg Farms Ltd in November, 2013. The McIntosh family raises both pullets and layers that produce white eggs. We grow corn, soybeans and wheat. The Mcintosh family is happy to celebrate Canada’s 150th Avviversary on July 1, 2017. We are also excited to be a part of the 100th IPM in Huron County in September. The 5 Maple Leafs is the name of our barn quilt. the maple leaf is a symbol of Canada. Canada ame together in 1867. Canada’s 150th anniversary was my inspiration for creating this barn quilt. The red maple leafs and the red border represents the Canadian Flag. The white maple leaf in the center represents peace. The black outside border stands for the soldiers that died for our freedom. The Canada flag will fly high over the McIntosh farm to mark the 150th anniversary of Canada.
