The story

The Shapton family came to Canada from Pyworthy, Devonshire, England in 1843. They settled in the Exeter area and bought this farm in 1893. Six generations have worked this land and the seventh already has its tiny feet firmly rooted in this fertile soil. We chose the Carpenter’s Wheel for our barn quilt to honour the woodworkers in this family. The greens symbolize the crops we grow and the black represents our Black Angus cattle. In the centre we find blue and purple. These colours acknowledge our richest blessing, our family, as we carry on this farming legacy.
