The story

My parents, Wayne and Deborah Caldwell bought the farm the early 80’s. In 1989 I was born and I grew up in this little corner of the world. It was always my dream to one day own the farm and enjoy the property for a lifetime. Last spring, my fiancé Adam & I made that dream a reality. On May 27th of this year, Adam & I got married back in the bush and held an afternoon reception with family and friends in the barn. It was the perfect first day of forever. Adam’s sister Stephanie, is very crafty & talented. She was the one who let us know about this beautification project for the 100th IPM this year. After completing her own 4×4 quilt for the side of their house, she gifted her talents to help spruce up the outside of our barn! In the spirit of Canada’s 150th, she used the paint colour named “Oh Canada” red which also matches the barn doors and window trim that we repainted before the wedding. We are proud that this quilt, “Electric Fan,” will become a part of history with the farm, and we will always know how old it is, as it went up the same year we were married!
