The story

Horticultural Beauty was designed to represent the work Seaforth & District Horticultural Society does to beautify our community. The hanging basket quilt block on the planter symbolizes the beautiful hanging baskets supplied annually by the society for our downtown, and its yellow and green are the colours of the SDHS. The yellow flowers growing in the planter depict Calendulas, the floral emblem of the society. This 8’ x 8’ quilt block hangs on the north side of Allan and Karen Carter’s barn in Harpurhey and is visible from Highway 8 west of Seaforth. A huge thank you to all the volunteers who contributed to this project!
